BOZEMAN, MT, Oct. 18, 2017– Innovation Campus Partners (ICP) and its affiliated developer, Charter Realty and Development Corp., are proud to announce the Phase 1 build out of the Montana State University Innovation Campus (MSUIC), a collaboratively developed research park designed to create opportunities for Montana researchers, students, and local technology companies. Work on Phase 1 is underway to create the first building – a 20,000 square foot Applied Research Lab.
The goal of the Innovation Campus is to meet the increased need for top-tier research and technology workspaces while fulfilling local economic development goals to support the creation of high paying jobs in the Gallatin Valley. The MSUIC integrates a diverse set of stakeholders from across the local Montana
community, Montana University System, and private sector to identify needs for high-tech lab, office, and light manufacturing space.
The project, which resides on the 42-acres of land west of the Advanced Technology Park and east of Bozeman Gateway, will also serve to strengthen the research capability of MSU and expand the commercialization of technology related to MSU’s clusters of academic and research excellence: biotechnology, photonics, optics, biofilm engineering, and cyber security.
ICP partner, Dan Zelson, and Principal of Charter Realty and Development Corp, stated, “Working with the MSU Innovation Campus team has allowed our group to fully understand the goals and needs of the local research community and has enabled us to create a framework and a strategy to achieve those goals over the long term. There is a strong commitment and recognition that the site needs to fit within the existing architectural style and outdoor loving culture of Bozeman and we have worked to ensure the inclusion of walking paths, biking trails and transportation links which will keep the project connected to the community.”
Tracy Ellig, Executive Director of MSU Communications, added, “We’re excited to see the first phase of this project begin. The Innovation Campus will play an important role in economic growth for Bozeman, the Gallatin Valley and the state in coming years. We have a strong partner in ICP in moving this project forward
in ways that will attract high-tech firms, but also nurture local startups.”
Ellig continued, “ICP was chosen to collaborate with MSU on the Advanced Research Lab, the cornerstone of the MSUIC development. MSU and ICP share a vision of strengthening the overall research and development capabilities of Montana.”
Innovation Campus Partners brings together a world-class, multi-disciplinary team, deeply rooted and vested in Montana. The team is primarily composed of Charter Realty and Development (Big Sky Town Center, Yellowstone Airport Plaza), Martel Construction and A&E Architects.
